Below is a list of some basic first aid items that pet owners can keep on hand in case of an accident or injury.
Gauze sponges -- 50 four-by-four inch sponges
Triple antibiotic ointment -- such as Neosporin®
Ear syringe -- two ounce capacity
Ace self-adhering athletic bandage -- three inch width
White petrolium jelly -- such as Vaseline®
Saline Eye wash
Sterile, non-adherent pads
Generic Benadryl® capsules -- 25mg, for allergies (dose is 1mg/pound)
Hydrocortisone acetate -- one percent cream
Sterile stretch gauze bandage -- three inches by four yards
Dermicil hypoallergenic cloth tape -- one inch by ten yards
Vet wrap bandages
Rimadyl® -- pain/anti-inflammatory medication for dogs
