The Mooch Fund

The Mooch Fund is a program that was set up in 1992 to help injured or stray pets. The fund helps defray the costs of medical and surgical treatment needed before adopting them out to loving homes. This program is made possible through fundraisers & generous donations provided by the community and our clients. So far, we have helped hundreds of needy & injured animals fully recover and find wonderful homes. Please check back to this page frequently for updates on our most recent Mooch Fund pets. We welcome & appreciate any donations to this non-profit program at Whitefish Animal Hospital.
Now Looking for Good Homes:
ADOPTED!!!
"Alaska"
I'm a 5 year old neutered male Akita that needs a new home soon! My parents are relocating and are very sad that I cannot come with them. They'd really like me to have a new home
with plenty of room to run. I am current on my vaccines and I am both housetrained and leash trained. I get along with other dogs. Please spread the word about me and call if you have any questions.
Please call if you are interested in adopting or have any questions about our Mooch pets at (406) 862-3178.
Adopted!! Simon
Four month old male (Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix - we think?) Animal Control brought him into the hospital on November 15th with both back legs broken, guessing that he had been hit by a car. Dr. Jim worked tirelessly during an 8 hour surgery, attempting to save both his legs by inserting pins straight down his femurs & attaching external fixatures to secure the shattered bones in place. So far, Simon is in good spirits despite his injuries, his legs are healing well & he is staying at a foster home between hospital visits. He is extremely cute & lovable, very friendly with people, cats & other dogs. Simon says he is really looking forward to running & playing as healthy puppy.
Simon was adopted by a loving family in early January. His legs are healing well and he is really enjoying his new family!
